Stubbornness

My masquerade entry for Otakuthon 2013 in Montreal. I won "Best in Character" in the Journeyman division.

This photo was taken in the Old Port of Montreal with my boyfriend, ~Hellsung101 as the Eleventh Doctor. We decided to go as a Doctor/Merida duo to the con because I had no time to make him a kilt, and it was also based on the idea of *khallion who did a series of Disney Princesses finding the Tardis - three of those pictures are of Merida. So we thought, "why not?" The Doctor had a red-haired, feisty, Scottish companion... in his search for her, he may have stumbled upon Merida, right??

So in this photo, Merida is being a stubborn teenager (the kind that drives her mum crazy...) and the Doctor is either saying: "You're Scottish: FRY SOMETHING!" or "You are SO Scottish!!"

I am sad to say that, because of my work, a lot of things were rushed on this cosplay. My quiver and arrows are held together by mostly hot glue. However, I love my choice of fabrics. The dress is a highland wool serge (how much more perfect could you get for a tomboyish, Scottish princess?) and the cape is really thick coat wool. Needless to say, I was dying of heat. But it was well worth it.
